Thai basil chicken
Ricetta di
jasmine rice
2 tbsp sesame oil (for marinating meat)
peanut oil (for frying)
1 large onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
8 thai green chilis (or 2-3 jalapenos), minced
1/2 cup raw cashews
8 dried chinese red chilis, chopped
1 cup thai basil, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped into strips
12 oz chicken (or tofu), chopped into strips, marinated with sesame oil
Sauce
2 tbsp palm sugar
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp fish sauce
Stir and reserve
Preparazione → 10 min
Cottura → 15 min
1. Add about 3 tbsp peanut oil to a wok and bring to high heat
2. Add dried chilis and fry for a minute or so
3. Add chicken and cook thoroughly and remove from heat and reserve
4. Add a bit more peanut oil and add cashews, minced green chilis, until cashews are browned
5. Add garlic and fry for 1 minute
6. Add onion and fry until cooked
7. Add reserved chicken and sauce and fry for a minute or so
8. Add red bell pepper and fry until not crisp
9. Add basil and fry for a minute
10. Remove from heat and serve
