Gluten free vegan no bake apple pie

Graham cracker crust
- 2 cups of vegan gluten free graham crackers (about 12 graham crackers)
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 3 tablespoons of water
- Dash of salt
Pie filling
- 2 Apples
- 4/3 cups of powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons of Cinnamon
- 3 Tablespoons of almond flour

1. Graham Cracker Crust
- Finely crush the vegan gluten free graham crackers using a rolling pin and a plastic bag.

2. - Add the graham cracker crumbs to a medium bowl and mix with vegetable oil and water.

3. - Press into a pan.

4. Pie Filling
- Slice and peel apples. We cut apples using an apple corer slicer and then cut those slices into thirds.

5. - Put apples in a pan with a little bit of water. We used approximately a half cup of water.

6. - Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes with occasional stirring.
- While the apples are cooking, mix the powdered sugar, cinnamon, and almond flour in a bowl.

7. - After the 10 minutes of cooking, add a half cup of water to the apples. Then, stir spoonfuls of the mix.

8. - After all the mix is added to the pan, remove the pan from the heat.
- Add pie filling to graham cracker crust.

10. This recipe was improved because it removed gluten and made the apple pie vegan. It removed the wheat flour and added almond flour, which gave it a slightly different texture in the pan because the almond flour was not as fine. I used gluten free graham crackers, which are not as crispy as original graham crackers, but had a similar taste. These crackers were also vegan because they were sweetened with molasses instead of honey. Also, vegetable oil was used to bind the graham cracker crumbs together instead of butter to make the recipe vegan.
