The best onion gravy (best with pork, sausages and yorkshire puds)

1 1/2 medium onions
100g butter
2 tbsp marsala
3-4 dessert spoons of apple sauce (optional)
3 tbsp flour
2 tbsp dark brown sugar (better colour but light is ok)
600ml stock (any will do, it depends on the meat)

Prep. Time → 5 min

Cook Time → 25 min

1. Chop the onions int half moons and cook in the melted butter till very soft

2. Stir in the flour and sugar

3. Add the marsala and apple sauce an stir

4. Add the Stock and bring to the boil then turn down to a simmer (it usually takes about 10 mins but keep checking until its a gloopy consistancy

5. Pour over your meal and enjoy!
