Mom's cherry crumble squares
Recipe by
1 package yellow cake mix
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 eggs
1 can (1 pound, 5 ounces) cherry pie filling
1 package coconut-almond frosting mix*
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Prep. Time → 15 min
Cook Time → 40 min
1. Combine cake mix, butter and eggs. Mix well. Pat into 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Grease bottom only. Top with cherry pie filling.
2. Combine frosting mix with melted butter, sprinkle over cherries.
3. Bake at 350 degrees F for 35-40 minutes. Bake on bottom shelf and put aluminum foil around edges of pan.
4. Cool and cut into squares.
5. If you cannot find the coconut-almond frosting mix:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup confectioner's sugar
3/4 cup coconut
1/2 cup pecans
pinch of flour
Mix with melted butter to make crumb topping.
