Lauki halwa a.k.a doodhi halwa (bottle gourd)
Recipe by
2 bowls grated lauki, 3/4 bowl milk, 1/2 sugar, melon seeds, 2 big spoon ghee and raisins
Prep. Time → 20 min
Cook Time → 35 min
1. 1. In a thick bottom pan or wok add milk and grated lauki and cook on slow flame. This process should take about 10-12 minutes.
2. Add sugar and keep stirring the mix. Milk will start disappearing after 10 more minutes of this.
3. Now, add ghee and stir it nicely. Within 5-7 minutes halwa will start binding and leave the surface of the vessel.
4. Ghee will separate in another few minutes and then add raisins and melon seeds. Mix once and switch off the stove.
5. Garnish with almonds if you so wish.
