1/2 box light brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp Hawaiian salt
1 1/2 Tbsp Sherry (or Whiskey optional)
1/2 tsp Chinese 5 spice
5 whole Cloves
3/4 C lemon juice
OPTIONAL - 1 tsp li hing mui powder (mo betta w/powder)
Add following ingredients and mix well
4 12 oz packages prunes
1 12 oz package dried apricots (or mixed fruit, I think is better with mixed fruit!)
3 oz preserved (dried) lemon peel
2 oz seedless li hing mui (Gdad prefers seeded cause you can suck on the seed for "hours" for more flavor)

1. In a large bowl combine ingredients.

2. Let stand for 4 days, stir occasionally.

3. Mom places in zip lock bags and flips them over once in awhile to "stir" them. Also have 4 quart jars on hand to put mixture into when done. Store in refrigerator when done.
