Devils food chocolate cake

Ingredients for 2 - 9" layers
3/4 cup butter
5 tsp baking powder
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3/4 cup cocoa
1-1/4 cups milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
2-2/3 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt

Directions
1. Preheat oven 350°
2. Cream the butter, and add gradually 1/2 of the sugar. Beat eggs and gradually add remaining sugar and cocoa. Add vanilla.
3. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Combine with butter mixture and add milk.
4. Pour into 2 greased & floured 9" cake pans or angel food cake pan.
5. Bake 25 to 30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
6. Turn out onto rack to cool. Frost when completely cool.
