2 TBS SHORTENING
1 CUP SUGAR
2 EGGS
3-3/4 CUPS FLOUR
4 TSP BAKING POWDER
½ SALT
¼ TSP NUTMEG – OPTIONAL
¼ TSP CINNAMON – OPTIONAL
¾ CUP MILK

Directions
1. CREAM SHORTENING & SUGAR. BLEND IN EGGS. SIFT DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER. STIR INTO CREAMED SUGAR ALTERNATING WITH MILK.
CHILL DOUGH 2 HRS. IN REFRIGERATOR.
ROLL TO 1/3 IN THICKNESS. CUT WITH DONUT CUTTER.
FRY IN DEEP FAT 350 - 365° UNTIL DONUTS RISE TO TOP AND ARE BROWN.
REMOVE FROMIIOL AND DRAIN ON PAPER TOWELS.
SPRINKLE WITH CONF SUGAR OR CINAMMON SUGAR.
