Apple pie
Recipe by2 1/2 Lbs McIntosh Apples, Peeled and Sliced
1 3/4 Cups Sugar
1 Tablespoons Flour
1 Pinch Salt
1 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Lemon Zest, grated
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Tablespoons Milk
2 Pie Crusts
1 Teaspoon Sugar
1. Preheat oven to 475º F
Roll out pie crusts
Place one crust in a deep dish pie pan.
Mix sugar, flour, spices, lemon zest and lemon juice to make two cups and is brown in color.
Layer apples and sugar mixture in the pie crust, dot with butter and cover with top crust.
Brush with milk and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon sugar, prick with fork several times or make decorative slits.
Bake for 15 minutes, then lower oven temperature to 350º F and bake for 30 minutes.
