Cranberry pear relish
Rezept von martin girl's
4 cups (1lb) fresh cranberries
1 1/2 to 2 cups sugar
3/4 to 1 cup orange juice (can substitute with other juice)
2 firm pears or apples (or combination of the two)
2-3 cinnamon sticks
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
1/8 tsp. Cloves
1/8 tsp. Nutmeg
Zest of an orange if you wish
Vorb. Zeit → 5 Min.
Koch Zeit → 15 Min.
1. Combine all ingredients in a heavy sauce pan; stir well.
2. Cook on medium heat until berries pop, approximately 10 minutes.
3. Mash berries open with back of spoon at end of cooking, should be slightly thickened.
4. Let cool to room temperature; remove cinnamon sticks; refrigerate.5
