Almond-chocolate-spinach smoothie

1 frozen chopped banana
1-2 medjool dates, pits removed, soaked for 2 hours
1 TBS almond butter
1 TBS cocoa powder
1 TBS ground flax seeds or chia seeds
1 cup vanilla almond milk
1-2 handfuls spinach or kale
2-3 ice cubes (optional)

1. Add ingredients to blender and blend. Add additional water or ice for desired consistency.
